Dear Friends,

I’m so sorry but we have to cancel our show tonight in Tucson, AZ. Canceling any show is never an easy decision, but after a visit to an ENT in the area, it was clear that trying to sing tonight could cause permanent damage. I’m very disappointed but determined to make it up as soon as we can.

My doctor informed me that I have extremely inflamed throat, nose, and vocal chords, most likely due to a “nasty virus”. Any more irritation would put me in danger of rupturing blood vessels in vocal chords, which can then scar them. I took two shots of steroids in my butt (one in each cheek), two more steroids in pill form, one antibiotic and what told that I should warm up in the afternoon tomorrow and make a decision about our next show.

There’s always possibility of re-injury but if you’re an optimist, consider me day-to-day at this point.

If you still happen to be in the area tonight both Delicate Steve and Yellow Ostrich, the two great bands who are on tour with us, will still be playing.
